Welcome to iLoX Photography. I'm originally from Mullion on Cornwall's Lizard Peninsula and now based in Mid Devon on the edge of Dartmoor and I have spent decades photographing the incredible landscapes of the South West. I specialise in minimalist long exposure seascapes, atmospheric coastal work, and dramatic landscape prints crafted for discerning collectors. Technique
Long Exposure Fine Art Photography
Long exposure photography transforms ordinary landscapes into ethereal, almost dreamlike scenes by using slow shutter speeds to capture the passage of time. Movement within the frame, often for several seconds or sometimes minutes, becomes beautifully blurred and softened.
Flowing water becomes glass. Crashing waves dissolve into mist. Clouds streak across the sky. This contrast between motion and stillness creates a minimalist, contemplative aesthetic that emphasises light, form, and mood over literal representation.
The result is a serene and atmospheric image that invites the viewer to pause and experience the landscape in a more emotional, timeless way. One that looks extraordinary as a large format fine art print.

My background is in wedding and portrait photography, including running a successful studio for many years. That career shaped how I see light, composition, and the decisive moment. Landscape photography came later, and it quickly became an obsession.
My specialism is minimalist long exposure work. Seascapes, coastal structures, and the kind of quiet, atmospheric scenes that reward patience and preparation. I shoot on Canon professional equipment and spend more time researching tide charts than I'd like to admit.
